I am an archaeologist specialising in the study of Late Iron Age Scandinavia, with a focus on social and political organisation, conflict and militarism, and the comparative archaeology of slavery and social inequality.

I currently work as an Associate Professor at Uppsala University, where I am PI on the Swedish Research Council-funded project Social Inequality, Structural Violence, and Marginalisation in Viking-Age Scandinavia. I am also Co-I on the NordForsk-funded project Making a Warrior: The Social Implications of Viking Age Martial Ideologies.
